64 North Deeside Road, Kincardine O'Neil

This property comprises two adjoining buildings dated to the earlier 19th century, with later alterations. Number 62, formerly a blacksmith's workshop (smiddy), was later used as a Brethren meeting room, and features a gable end facing the road. The lintel above the attic window is inscribed with the date 1873. Two ground-floor windows are present. A stone ball finial has been restored to the apex of the roof. Number 64, a single-storey and attic cottage adjoining to the left, has two windows and a central door. The two canted dormers are later additions to this cottage. A chimney stack rises from the east gable end, and a ridge stack is located where the two properties join. The roofs are covered in grey slate, and the rainwater goods are cast iron. Ordnance Survey maps from 1866 and 1899 show the buildings as part of the Kincardine O’Neil settlement.
