Description
The East Warehouse on Harbour Road in Gardenstown is an early to mid-18th century tall three-storey warehouse built against a slope, which only shows two storeys on the northern side facing Harbour Road. The building is constructed of harled rubble.
On the northern elevation facing the sea, there are five irregular bays with a segmental-headed entrance featuring double-leaf plank doors. The southern elevation, which faces Harbour Road, also has five bays and includes two doorways, as well as an additional entrance on the first floor beneath a gabled dormer that breaks the wallhead, accessible by a wooden forestair. The glazing is varied throughout the building, and it has end and ridge stacks that are truncated at the western gable. The roofs are covered with slate and corrugated asbestos.
