Description
5 Crovie is a cottage built in the early to mid-19th century. It has two storeys and an attic, with a basement and raised ground floor positioned against the side of a hill. The cottage features a three-bay design with a rubble stone frontage, while the rest of the building is covered in modern harling, which contrasts with the painted reveals around the windows. The central entrance is flanked by two windows and is accessed by a flight of steps that oversails the entrance to the basement. There is a single raised basement window and another window in the first-floor seaward gable. The cottage also has two late 19th-century canted dormers and a mix of two- and four-pane glazing. It is topped with a slate roof and has coped end stacks. Additionally, there is a modern single-storey harled lean-to addition on the south gable.
