Description
The Fishing Store on Ness Road in Stromness dates back to the early 19th century. It is a single-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan building designed asymmetrically, constructed from roughly coursed rubble.
On the east elevation, which is the principal facade, there is a timber panelled door located in a bay that is offset to the right of the center. To the left of the center, there is a boarded door, and in the outer left bay, there are two-leaf boarded doors. A small window is positioned in the outer right bay.
The north and south side elevations are blank and feature gablehead stacks. The roof is covered with cement-pointed Caithness slates and has a stone ridge. The building has harl-pointed rubble walls and coped gablehead stacks on both the north and south sides.
