Farm Buildings, 254 Glassdrumman Rd, Annalong, Newry, Co Down, BT34 2NQ

This is a two-storey farm building located on Glassdrumman Road, Annalong, Newry, County Down. Although external staircase buildings were once common in the Mourne area, few now survive in their original form. The building dates to around 1907, as confirmed by a finely dressed granite datestone projecting from the wall to the right of the first-floor door. The roof is gabled and covered in natural slates with tile copings. The walls are constructed from roughly dressed granite blocks laid in courses, with some snecking. An external granite staircase with 13 steps leads to a vertically sheeted, tongue and groove door positioned slightly off-centre on the first floor. Similar doors are located to the left and right on the ground floor. There are shuttered openings on either side of the first-floor door, and two shuttered window openings on the rear elevation. A one-storey gabled shed adjoins the right gable. A building is depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834, but the existing structure is a replacement.
