Description

Small, single storey vernacular farm house of probable mid 19th century origin. The building is set on the NW side of the Slievenaman Road, 4 miles W of Newcastle. The front façade faces roughly W and is asymmetrical. Slightly to the left of centre of this facade is a gabled porch. This has a doorway, with partly glazed door. To the left of the porch is a narrow window with modern frame. To the right is a similar window. To the N gable are two very small upper level window with fixed light frames. To the S gable there is a large lean-to rubble-built shed with corrugated iron roof. To the rear the is a small lean-to to right. This has two small fixed light windows to rear and a timber sheeted door to N. The façade is harled and white washed. The gabled roof is covered in a roughly hewn local natural slate and has a slight overhang with plain barges to N. There is a rendered chimney stack to each gable. No rw goods.
