Description

Two storey gabled vernacular farm house, probably of c.1840s, set to the S side of the Trassey Road, 6 miles W of Newcastle, 4 miles SW of Bryansford. The front façade faces N. To the left of centre is a small lean-to porch with a timber sheeted and glazed door. To the left of this is a small sash window. To the right of the doorway are two similar windows. To the first floor are four similar, but smaller windows, which are positioned in line with the ground floor openings. The E gable has a small single storey shed/outbuilding with a corrugated iron covered gabled roof, and (to front) three timber sheeted doors (one of which is a double door). The W gable is blank. To the rear of the house there is a single storey gabled extension, which has been renovated in recent years and sports a modern window to each face. To the main façade either side of the extension there is a single window with modern frame. The façade is finished in rough cast render and painted to front. The roof is covered in natural slate, with artificial slate to the extension. Rendered parapets to main roof. Two rendered chimney stacks (to gables). Cast iron and PVC rw goods.
