Description
Two storey, gabled, vernacular house, set at the end of a lane to the E of the Trassey Road, 4 miles W of Newcastle. The property was renovated recently and has a newly built return to the rear. The front façade faces roughly N and is asymmetrical. To the far left on the ground floor is a small lean-to porch with timber sheeted door. To the left of this are three small sash windows (vertical glazing bars, 2 panes over 2). To the first floor are four similar windows, in line with the ground floor openings. The E gable has a small sash window to the left on the first floor. The W gable is blank. To the rear there is a full height gabled return. To the E face of the return there is a single storey lean-to, which also abuts the rear façade of the main house. This lean-to has a with timber sheeted stable door and sash window, as front. To the left of the lean-to (to main return) is a similar sash window, and to the first floor left of this face of the return is a very small sash window (3 panes over 3). The W face of the return has a window to ground and to first floor, both of which correspond to those on the E face. The exposed left portion of the rear façade of the main house has a window to ground and to first floor, as front. To the gable of the return is a long single storey outbuilding with a rubble façade and a natural slated gabled roof and a row of small four pane windows to both E and W faces (with timber sheeted doors to E face also). The façade of the main house is finished in uneven render and unpainted. Eaves course. The roof is covered in natural slate with rendered parapets. Cast iron skylight to rear. Four rendered chimney stacks (three to gables one to centre of roof ridge of main house). Cast iron rw goods.
