45 Slievenaman Road, Cross, Newcastle, Co Down, BT33 0QD

This is a small, single-storey vernacular farmhouse likely dating to the mid-19th century, situated on the north side of Slievenaman Road, approximately five miles west of Newcastle. The front facade, facing roughly south, is symmetrical and features a relatively large lean-to porch centrally positioned. The porch has a doorway with a timber sheeted door to the east and a small window with a sash frame. A small window with a modern frame is situated to the left of the porch, and a similar window is to the right. Both gables are blank. A small two-pane window is located at the rear of the building to the right. The facade is largely harled, and the gabled roof is covered in natural slate with harled parapets. A rendered chimney stack is present on each gable. A well is located to the south of the house.

An Ordnance Survey map from 1859 shows a building on this site, occupied in 1863 by a Patrick Cunningham, with a rateable value of 15 shillings. It is probable that this is the same dwelling as exists today. The building is of vernacular character.
