10 River Street, Newry, Co Down, BT34 2QD

This is a two-storey house, constructed between 1860 and 1879. It is a rendered building displaying a significant amount of decorative detailing, although this is now compromised by decay and later alterations. The street frontage features cement rendering, with vermiculated quoins. The ground floor has banded rustication, a platband at the level of the first-floor cill, and a projecting eaves course. A rendered parapet sits above, incorporating a concrete balustrade and colonettes. Two modern, stained doors are situated on the right-hand side of the ground floor, alongside two modern sliding sash windows to the left. Three similarly sized windows are present on the first floor. A tablet, fixed to the centre of the balustrade, bears the date 1860. The building was formerly a house and continues in that use.
