McGrath Barbers, 15 Kilmorey Street, Newry, Co Down, BT34 2DF

This is a two-storey shop with a gabled roof, dating from approximately 1820 to 1839. Originally a house, it is now used as a barbershop. The building was shown on an 1835 Ordnance Survey map as part of the garden to number 13. Valuation records from 1863 indicate a height of 1.75 storeys and occupancy by James Fegan, secretary to the Newry Water Works. The façade's unusual design may have been influenced by a former garden wall. The roof is covered with asbestos slates and features a rendered chimney to the rear. The walls are pebble-dashed, with a modern panelled door and transom light on the right side of the street façade, and a modern top-hung window to the left. The first floor has a shallow-headed opening with a modern timber frame. A crenellated granite parapet motif runs below the first-floor window sills, with a niche containing a decorated pinnacle at its centre. Although it has been modernized, the building does not currently fulfil the criteria for listed building status.
