Description

A single-storey, three bay vernacular dwelling with single-storey outbuilding to left gable. It is aligned roughly E-W on the W side of Dernaroy Rd. Pitched natural slate roof with brick chimney to left gable and on party wall between central and right bay. There are no rainwater goods. All walls are whitewashed lime-rendered rubble stone. Principal elevation faces S. Left bay is slightly raised and has a central 2x3 metal-framed window with original granite cill (set at a lower level). Central bay has t+g sheeted door at left and a similar window with concrete cill at right. Right bay is a byre and has a central 2/2 sliding sash window with narrow concrete cill (now boarded over). Left gable is abutted by a lower, single-storey outbuilding. The exposed section is cement-rendered and blank. The outbuilding has a pitched corrugated metal roof with concrete skew to exposed gable. Walls are as house. Principal elevation has a t+g sheeted half-door at left and a fixed metal lattice-framed window at right. Its left gable is abutted by a slightly lower lean-to (of no interest). Exposed section is cement rendered and blank. Rear elevation has a rubble stone base course and is blank. Rear elevation is blank. Right gable has a t+g sheeted door at right.
