Description
This is a two-storey, two-bay house located within a terrace facing the sea on Osborne Promenade in Warrenpoint. The house dates from between 1820 and 1839. It has a pitched natural slate roof with a chimney to the left end. Two wall head dormers are present on the front roof slope, each featuring a pitched natural slate roof, plain bargeboards, and a modern, shallow segmental-headed window with a single top-hung sash. Half round plastic rainwater goods are fitted. The front elevation, which faces southwest, is smooth rendered and painted, with all windows featuring painted granite cills. A modern stained timber door with a plain semicircular headed fanlight is in the left bay, alongside a modern, single top-hung timber sash window. Identical windows are present in each first-floor bay. The left gable is adjoined by building number 7 Osborne Promenade, a separately listed building. The right gable abuts number 5 Osborne Promenade. A small area in front of the house is enclosed by a cement-rendered dwarf wall. It appears on the 1834 Ordnance Survey six-inch map as part of the terrace, and the First Valuation of 1835 recorded its dimensions as 22ft x 27ft 6in x 22ft, matching the measurements of number 7. The rear elevation was not inspected.
