Gate Lodge to Forkhill House, 22 Captains Road, Forkhill, Newry, Co Armagh, BT35 9RS

A single-storey/ three-bay gate lodge aligned SW-NE on the E side of Captains Road. Pitched natural slate roof with decorative bargeboards with perforated cross detail. Exposed rafter tails. Two cement rendered chimneys - one to left gable and the other on party wall between the bays. Walls are lined cement rendered (unless otherwise stated). Windows are top-hung timber casements with granite cills. Principal elevation faces SE. The left bay has a similarly detailed projecting porch to right and a window to left. Porch has a 2x4 panelled timber door to front face; right and left cheeks each have a narrow cast-iron Gothic lattice window. Middle and right bays each have a window to centre. Right and left gables are blank. Rear elevation is wet-dashed and has a 2/2 sliding sash to left bay with machined brick jambs and head. Middle bay and left half of right bay are abutted by a lean-to return with monopitched natural slate roof and timber door to front face. Right and left cheeks are blank. The remainder of right bay is blank.
