Lynnwood Lodge, 10 Liddesdale Road

Lynnwood Lodge is a picturesque gate lodge built in the later 19th century. It is a single-storey and attic structure with a rectangular plan, featuring three bays and a prominent gabled design. The left bay is advanced, and the lodge has deep bracketed overhanging eaves and plain bargeboards. The principal (east) elevation is constructed from tooled, squared, coursed yellow sandstone, while the north elevation uses tooled, squared, snecked yellow sandstone. The south and rear (west) elevations are made from roughly squared yellow sandstone, with droved dressings throughout.

The principal elevation has stop-chamfered window margins. The central entrance features a timber-boarded door with a shouldered fanlight above. The left bay is canted and corbelled out, supporting a finialled attic gable. The right bay contains a bipartite, stone-mullioned window. On the north side, there is a lean-to with a timber-boarded door.

The lodge has non-traditional uPVC windows. It is topped with a grey slate roof that has a metal ridge, and it features corniced ashlar ridge stacks with circular clay cans. Most of the rainwater goods are made of cast iron.
