The Green, No.7 in lane to north of Glasswater Road, Killinchy in the Woods, Crossgar, Co Down

Long, single storey vernacular dwelling of probable pre 1834 origin. The property is set to the E side of a long winding lane to the N of Glasswater Road, c.1.5 miles N of Crossgar. The front façade faces roughly S and is asymmetrical. To the right of centre is a timber sheeted door with small opening (possibly originally glazed). To the left of the doorway are two widely spaced sash windows with horizontal and vertical glazing bars- 6/6 but not arranged in Georgian fashion. To the right of the door are two similar windows, grouped more closely together. Both gables are blank. To the rear there is a left of centre door, as front. To the right of this are two windows of slightly differing size. Both have lost much of their frames. The façade has been harled at some stage but much of this has come away revealing the rubble construction. The gabled roof is covered in asbestos ‘slate’. There are four rendered brick chimney stacks. Sections of cast iron rw goods remain. To the immediate E of the house are the remains of single storey, rubble-built outbuildings.
