Block 1 (and 3), Main Street, Drumquin, Omagh, Co Tyrone

Block 1 (and 3), Main Street, Drumquin, was a building dating to approximately 1780, originally constructed as a single-story blacksmith’s forge with a thatched roof. According to the First Survey card, around 1830 it was altered into a two-story house, and then again around 1880 into a three-story house. The building was rendered and painted, with stone quoins also painted. It had three two-story and three first-floor windows on the front elevation, without astragal glazing, and louvred shutters. The ground-floor level featured a pub window and door on the left-hand side with a glazed screen of small panes, and a similar arrangement on the right-hand side of the central house entrance, which included a sheeted door, sidelights with square panes, and a fan-shaped arched fanlight above with two astrags. The front-facing first-floor windows were topped with flat-pitched pediments, painted, and a sill course that extended to ground level, enclosing the left-hand pub screen and central entrance. The building was reported to be in fair condition. The frontage was approximately 42 feet in length. This building has been demolished and replaced with modern housing; it is not deemed to meet the criteria for a full survey and is not listed.
