Description

Block 1 (and 3), Main Street, Drumquin is not deemed to meet the criteria required to be worthy of a full survey. The building has been demolished and replaced with modern housing. The First Survey card states: '3/sty house & pub. Roof slated, chimneys rendered. Wall rendered, lined & painted. Stone quoins painted. 3 - 2nd FL & 3 F/FL D/H windows, no astrags, louvred shutters. Grd FFL has from L/H pub window & door glazed screen small panes & this repeated on R/H side of central entrance to house which has sheeted door & sidelights, square panes & fan shaped arched fanlight over all - 2 astrags. Condition fair. Frontage about 42 ft F/FL windows have flat pitched pediments, painted & sill course which runs to ground level to enclose L/H pub screen & central entrance. Bldg. built about 1780 as s/sty thatched roof blacksmith's forge. C.1830 became 2/sty house & c. 1880 became 3/sty house (from occupier) appears on O.S map of 1833'
