Sunday School, Lower Langfield Church

The Sunday School is located within the curtilage of the Lower Langfield Church (HB11/04/003) and is not considered worthy of a full listing due to a modern extension. The First Survey records the building as a single-story structure adjacent to the church, with an oblong plan. It has a slated roof with decorative bargeboards. The walls are of polygonal sandstone rubble, featuring margin quoins and a battered base. A central porch is situated on the east side, with a single door and window on the front, both featuring Georgian panes and bevelled surrounds. A panelled door, also with a bevelled surround, is located on the right-hand side of the porch, and an inscribed shield is positioned above the door. The main walls on either side of the porch contain a group of three double-hung windows with Georgian panes and bevelled surrounds. Stone chimneys are present. The building is in good condition. The east front is approximately 42 feet wide. An inscription reads "Built to the Glory of God, etc. (unclear) A.D. 1863."
