Description
This cast iron post box dates from the reign of King Edward VII, between 1901 and 1910, and was manufactured by T. Allen & Co. of London to a standard design. The post box is built into a low rubble stone boundary wall, which is part of a garden attached to a house. It is inscribed with 'ER VII' and a raised crown, and bears the maker’s mark ‘T. Allen & Co. London’. The post box is identified as no BT62 26, and the lid is currently broken. The wall faces a road junction in a rural area, within the townland of Cranagill.
