Cranagill Methodist Church, Ardress Road, Portadown, Craigavon, Co Armagh

This is a late 19th century Methodist church located on a corner site in a rural setting near Portadown, Co Armagh. The building is single-storey and has a simple, functional design with round-headed windows and a doorway. The main entrance faces southwest. The roof is slated, with a metal ventilator on the ridge and plain timber bargeboards. The walls are rendered with a dry dash finish, set on a smooth rendered plinth. Raised, smooth rendered quoins are visible at the corners, and low buttresses are placed between windows on the side elevations. A lozenge-shaped panel on the front gable bears the inscription "Cranagill Methodist Church 1881".

The central doorway has a semi-circular arch with moulded columnar jambs, enclosing a panelled timber door and panelled tympanum, a drip moulding and squared panelled shoulders. Three sets of coupled semi-circular arched windows with horizontal glazing bars and narrow moulded surrounds are set into the side elevations. There is a blind rear gable, with a lower, later projecting lean-to addition. The surrounding area includes a grassed area, a hard-surfaced car park, and mature trees. The church was built in 1881, as indicated by the datestone.
