Description

Crannagael is a house of uncertain origins, largely rebuilt or remodelled around 1842, but believed to incorporate elements of an earlier house dating back to the 1760s. The original property was reportedly built between 1760 and 1769 for James Nicholson. It was known as ‘Cranagill’ on an Ordnance Survey map from 1834-5. Two gate lodges formerly served the house, but they have since been demolished. The building is currently in private ownership and remains in use as a house.
