Description
Small, one and a half storey house with dormers, built around the fabric of a dwelling of probable pre 1834 construction, but much altered in recent years and now possessing a sharp newly built appearance. The property is situated to the E of the Lough Shore Road, approximately 1½ miles NW of Portaferry. Front (S) elevation has off centre gabled porch with modern timber two pane window. The W face of the porch is blank. Timber front door to E side. Window, similar to that in the porch, at left and right of porch on main façade. E elevation of main house has window, as before, to left with smaller attic window directly above, with timber sheeted door and two similar windows to side of return. W gable has similar window arrangement as east gable with window, as before, to left on return with large timber ‘patio’ doors to right. Rear elevation of main house has window, as before, to right, with gable of return to left, with timber glazed door. The entire house is finished in lined render with chamfered plinth. Roofs of both main house and return pitched with ‘Thru-tone’ composite slates, with gabled dormers to front elevation with timber casement windows and timber (tongue & groove) sides. Three Velux windows to rear of main roof. Three rendered chimney stacks to main roof with uniform pots. PVC gutters and down spouts.
