Description

Now derelict long narrow single storey cottage of perhaps c.1880s, situated in an isolated setting within northern part of the former Nugent estate, W of Mountain Road, just over a mile N of Portaferry. The building is constructed in random rubble, with red brick dressings and rendered and is now in very poor condition. Front N elevation is asymmetrical, with four openings all now mostly devoid of original door and window frames. Off centre doorway, now without door. Opening with segmental arch head to left, with stone cill and remains of casement window. Two windows to right of doorway as before. S rear elevation has two windows to the left, an off centre doorway, and another window to the far right. Window bays narrower than front elevation and without segmental arch heads. Virtually no remains of frames. Both gables blank. Pitched roof with Bangor blue slates and the remains of two (centred) red brick chimney stacks.
