This is a small, two-storey gabled house built around 1928 in Ballyalicock, approximately two miles east of Newtownards, County Down. The house replaced an earlier dwelling shown on Ordnance Survey maps from around 1860. The front (west) facade features a doorway slightly right of centre, with a decorative surround salvaged from the original house. This “Ards” surround consists of pilasters with projecting blocks and a semicircular archivolt topped with a keystone. The doorway now contains a PVC glazed door and a plain fanlight. Single windows with modern PVC frames and simple render surrounds are located to the left and right of the doorway. A similar window is positioned above the doorway within a gabled half dormer. The south gable has two matching windows to the first floor and one to the ground floor. The left side of the south gable connects to a single-storey lean-to extension, which contains a glazed PVC door. The north gable mirrors the south gable’s window arrangement, with two windows to the first floor, one to the right on the ground floor, and one on the north side of the lean-to. The ground floor rear is entirely occupied by the lean-to extension, featuring a PVC casement window to the right. The entire facade is covered in a dry dash "salt & pepper" render, with a plain recessed base. The pitched roof and the lean-to are covered with asbestos-free slates. Red brick chimney stacks are present on each gable. The house retains vernacular characteristics. According to the current owner, the reception room, formerly the kitchen, occupies the south side.
