8 Loughries Road, Loughriscouse, Newtownards, Co Down, BT23 3RN

This is the site of a former two-storey farmhouse, likely built between 1820 and 1839, located approximately one kilometer north of the hamlet of Loughries. The farmhouse is now largely demolished, with only the dilapidated shell of the ground floor remaining as rubble walls. Most openings on the south and east facades are blocked, although some remain on the north elevation. Attached to the west side is a gabled rubble barn/outbuilding in poor condition, but retaining its openings and slated roof.

An earlier depiction of a building on this site appears on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834. A 1973 survey recorded an inscribed stone on the north face, which read "Built by H. Ferguson AD 1821." The house was partially demolished in recent years due to its dangerous condition. A modern replacement dwelling is located immediately to the south of the former farmhouse site. Historical records from the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland include Ordnance Survey maps from 1834 and 1860, and valuations from approximately 1835 and 1861. The site is currently recorded as derelict, representing a vernacular building style.
