Park View, 21 Antrim Road, Aldergrove, Crumlin, Co Antrim, BT29 4DX

Park View is a Georgian farmhouse, likely built between 1740 and 1759. It is situated in a pleasant rural setting within the townland of Dungonnell. The house is externally little changed, and retains its original character.

The house is two storeys high with three bays, and is rendered and whitewashed. Each gable has a rendered chimney stack. The front door is panelled and flanked by full-height sidelights, which enclose a four-pane fanlight. All windows are 16-pane sashed, with each window in the sashes being four panes wide. A short brick return is present at the rear.

An inscription in the roof space, recorded in 1972, reads "April 3rd, 1756 re-roofed," suggesting a substantial repair or renewal of the roof at that time. Originally known as ‘Mansion Farm,’ the house was sold through the Landed Estates Court in 1856, after which it became known as ‘Park View’. An Ordnance Survey map from 1832-33 depicts a smaller house on the site, alongside various outbuildings, but does not name the building. The house is named on an Ordnance Survey map from 1857. The house is in private ownership and remains in use as a house.
