Description
No. 2 is a house dating from the 17th century, featuring painted render over rubblestone or cob. It has a rubblestone lateral stack at the front, offset at the eaves level, with a brick shaft above. The gabled roof is thatched, with a brick stack on the right gable end. The house has a two-unit plan with a lateral stack serving the hall next to the entry, and there is a small 19th-century lean-to extension at the rear.
The building stands two storeys high and has a two-window range. There is a 19th-century three-light casement window above a four-light window to the left. To the right of the stack, there is a small fire-window, and adjacent to the stack is a small two-light casement window above a lean-to slate porch that leads to a set-back 17th-century moulded oak door-frame with an 18th-century door. The wall to the right of the door is blank, with a curved corner leading to the right return, which features 19th-century casement windows—two lights on the first floor and three lights on the ground floor.
Attached to the left-hand corner is a rubblestone wall approximately 2 meters high that curves forward and extends about 8 meters to the left. Additionally, a lower wall, approximately 1 meter high and 6 meters long, is attached to it, fronting the house. The interior has not been inspected.
