Description
This barn, located about 30 metres south-east of Manor Farmhouse, is likely from the early 19th century and appears to have been converted from a cottage. It is constructed of local stone rubble and features a plain clay tiled gabled roof. The roof has dentilled brick eaves corbelling, indicating that the walls were raised from the former thatch line. The barn has two storeys with an attic and consists of two bays.
The windows have keystoned ashlar surrounds, with the lower windows being three-light casements that have pins for former external shutters. There are matching plain openings above, one of which has loft doors, while another is now blocked. The roof includes two hipped dormers, both with doors. There is a matching doorway located between the bays.
Additionally, there is a later 19th-century extension to the east that connects to an 18th-century barn situated about 60 metres from Manor Farmhouse, which adds to the important group value of the buildings.
