Description
The James King Chest Tomb, located in the churchyard one metre east of the chancel of the Church of St. Lawrence, dates from the mid-19th century and is made of Doulting stone. It features a chamfered rectangular base and plinth, with six panels divided by fluted pilasters and a fluted frieze. The top is made of Forest of Dean stone and has a cushion shape. The tomb is surrounded by a paved area with moulded stone kerbs, although the railings are missing. It is dedicated to James King, who passed away in 1842.
