Description
Church Meade is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from roughly squared and coursed rubble and random rubble Doulting stone, topped with a diagonal asbestos slate covered gambrel roof. The building features end stone chimney stacks on the front range and a brick chimney stack at the rear. It has an 'L'-shaped plan and stands two and a half storeys tall, with a five-window front arranged in a 2-1-2 pattern and a central entrance. The windows include 12-pane sash windows set in plain stone surrounds, along with three 2-light casement windows in the attic. The entrance consists of a 9-panel door, with the top three panels now glazed, and is topped by a stone moulded flat slab hood supported by curved brackets.
