Description

This is a mile post dating from the mid 18th century. It is made of cast iron and features a rectangular pillar that stands approximately 1 metre high. The top of the pillar is moulded and half hipped, and it has a moulded plinth. The raised letters on the post indicate the distances to Bath (9 miles), Warminster (8 miles), and Frome (4 miles).
