HORTON CP _ ST31NW 2/53 Outbuilding about 20 m east of Horton House -

GV II

Outbuilding, original purpose unknown, Possibly early C17, modified. Partly local stonework, some rendered, partly timber framed with brick infill; corrugated iron roof replacing thatch. Inside the 3-bay roof has collar and tie beam trusses, with 2 rows purlins and curved windbraces at north end; one truss closed with wattle and daub work; trusses carried on post with jambs which are seated on stone walling. The original use is neither markedly domestic nor agricultural, (VAG Report, unpublished SR0, June 1982).
