Description

This outbuilding, located about 20 meters east of Horton House, is likely from the early 17th century and has been modified over time. It features a mix of local stonework, some rendered areas, and timber framing with brick infill. The original thatched roof has been replaced with corrugated iron. Inside, the building has a three-bay roof supported by collar and tie beam trusses, with two rows of purlins and curved windbraces at the north end. One of the trusses is closed with wattle and daub work, and the trusses are supported by posts with jambs that rest on stone walling. The original purpose of the building is not clearly domestic or agricultural.
