Description

The listed building comprises gatepiers and a boundary wall that returns at the northwest corner of Stepps House. Likely dating from the 18th century, the gatepiers are constructed from Ham stone and stand approximately 3 metres high. They have a square plan with a chamfered plinth and a moulded cornice, surmounted by a small obelisk standing on a cavetto-moulded plinth. The boundary wall, also potentially from the 18th century, is built of squared and coursed local stone with concrete coping. The wall abuts an east gate pier that was rebuilt and is not considered to be of particular interest. The gatepiers and wall are primarily included on the list due to their group value with Stepps House.
