Description

Brownsells is a house that dates back to the 15th century and has been extensively modernised in the 18th and 20th centuries. The ground floor is made of coursed and squared rubble, while the first floor is covered in whitewashed roughcast. The house features a thatched roof and has two brick chimneys. The gable end faces the road and includes a two-light casement window on the ground floor with leaded lights, as well as a projecting square bay that is topped with a thatched bonnet and has "Gothick" glazing. There is a bonnet hood over the attic on the left side, which also has casement windows with leaded lights. The entrance has a door opening with a 20th-century glazed door beneath a wooden lintel. Inside, there is a through-passage that is bordered by a stud-and-plank partition.
