Description
Apple Cottage is a house that dates back to medieval times, with alterations made in the early 19th century and 20th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick, with the right gable being roughly rendered and also whitewashed. It features a thatched roof that is half-hipped on the right side, along with flanking brick chimneys. The house has one storey and an attic, consisting of three bays.
On the ground floor, there are irregular wooden casements and a large window in a blocked doorway to the left. The centre has two paired leaded casements beneath thatch, which have tiled aprons. To the left of the right bay, there is a 20th-century barred and glazed door. The right gable includes a 20th-century single-storey extension made of whitewashed brick with a flat roof. The left gable features a 20th-century semi-octagonal garden room that has a thatched roof sweeping around from the main pitches. Inside, the house has three cruck trusses.
