Description

Rectory. Built in the mid-to-late 18th century. The exterior is primarily of vitreous brick with red brick quoins, window surrounds, a gauged band course along the first floor, and dentil eaves. The roof is hipped and covered in old tiles, with two brick chimneys at the rear. The building is two storeys and an attic, with three bays. It has sash windows; those on the ground floor have five panes, while those on the first floor have four panes, all with brick heads. There are two hipped dormers with paired leaded casements. The central front door is panelled with six sections and has a semi-circular fanlight within a wooden doorcase featuring panelled reveals, Doric pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a cornice. A rear wing, originally dating to the 17th century, was completely rebuilt in the 1950s. The interior includes original plaster cornices on the ceilings and large, segmental-arched alcoves flanking an altered fireplace in a ground floor room on the left.
