Description
Sutton Bingham Manor is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century and has a large addition from the 20th century. The building is constructed of local stone that has been cut and squared, with dressings made of Ham stone. The roof is covered with plain clay tiles, featuring a base course of stone slates and bands of fish-scale tiles between the coped gables. There are stone chimney stacks, and the layout is in a "U" shape, with the southern arm significantly extended.
The manor is two stories high, with the west entrance facade displaying three bays of random window arrangement. A long three-bay addition projects from this facade. The first bay is gabled and features a three-light hollow chamfer mullioned window with leaded lights beneath a label at the first floor level. The second and third bays contain two- and three-light windows on the ground floor, with a cambered arch doorway situated between them, all topped with labels. Above, there are single-light windows without labels. The east elevation maintains a similar character and remains largely undisturbed.
