Description

No. 9 is a cottage, likely dating from the late 18th century, and one of a row of ten. It is constructed of local stone rubble with a thatched roof and a brick chimney stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. It features casement windows, and a corrugated iron porch protects a half-glazed door in the second bay. The interior remains unexamined. The front boundary wall, built of rubble stonework and standing 1.2 metres high, is an important feature of the cottage’s setting. It is worth noting that Nos. 7–10 in the row are of a different build, utilising greyer stones and featuring increased ceiling heights.
