Description

Springfield Cottage is one of a row of ten cottages, likely dating to the late 18th century. The cottage is constructed from local stone rubble, with a ribbon pointing pattern, and has a thatched roof. It has two storeys and two bays. The windows are 20th-century casements with leaded panes. A projecting natural stone perch with a shallow-pitched tiled roof is located in bay 2. The interior has not been inspected. The frontage has been heavily restored. A front boundary wall, constructed of rubble stonework and standing 1.2 metres high, is an important feature contributing to the setting of the cottage and the row.
