Description
No 8 is a cottage that is part of a row of ten, likely built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from local stone rubble and features a thatched roof and a brick chimney stack. The cottage has two storeys and two bays, with leaded 2-light casement windows that have a segmental arch on the lower level. There is a natural stone and thatch porch at bay 1. The interior has not been seen. The front boundary wall is made of rubble stonework and stands 1.2 metres high, which is important to the setting of the house and the row. The adjacent cottages, Nos 7-10, are of a different construction, using greyer stones and having increased room height.
