Description
Manor Farmhouse is a semi-detached farmhouse located on Main Road, dating from the mid-17th century and modified over time. It is constructed from local grey lias stone that has been cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings and a thatched roof featuring coped gables. The building stands two storeys high and has four bays. The upper level features three-light leaded casement windows of an early design, while the lower level includes four-light hollow chamfered mullioned windows with unworked top mitres and labels, and a boarded door with inserted lights on a heavy frame under a timber lintel at lower bay 2. There is no window in lower bay 4. Attached to the rear is a long pantiled farm building, which was presumably once thatched, with a coed west gable and tall stable-type doors located in the middle. The interior has not been seen, but it is reported to have flat unstopped chamfered beams and one fireplace, along with collar beam roof trusses.
