Description
No. 5 on Church Street, known as Lloyds Bank, is a house located at the end of a row, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from Ham stone ashlar and features a plain clay tile roof with a stepped, coped gable at the north end, continuing to the south, along with brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays, with sash windows in plain openings; the upper windows have 16 panes, while the lower bay 2 has a 6-panel door with toplights in a plain opening. The interior has not been seen.
Four metres east of the house are wrought-iron railings with alternating arrowheads and barbed arrowheads, topped with urn finials on the standards. These railings match the gate opposite the door. The return on the north side consists of a low brick wall with stone coping, all of which contributes to the overall setting of the house.
