Description
No. 9 is an early 19th-century house situated at the end of a row on Church Street. The house is constructed of ham stone ashlar with a plain clay tile roof punctuated by stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and arranged in three bays. The windows are sash windows, with 16-pane upper sashes in bays 1 and 3, a 12-pane upper sash in bay 2, and 4-pane sashes below. A four-panel door with a glazed toplight is set within a plain opening, sheltered by a deep lintol. A single-storey extension is built against the south gable, featuring a Welsh slate roof, a stepped coped gable, and a ball finial. The interior of the house has not been inspected. Approximately three metres east of the house are boundary railings consisting of alternate hoops, enclosing plain arrowheads and barbed arrowheads, with blunted tips. A timber gate is positioned opposite the front door, leading to a stone wall return on the south side, which contributes to the overall setting of the property.
