Description

The former stable block, located 20 metres south-southeast of No. 17 High Street, is a building that has been adapted for use as a surgery. It is possibly an adaptation of a 17th-century structure. The building is constructed of local stone rubble and Ham stone ashlar, featuring a roof of double Roman clay tiles between stepped coped gables, with some glass tiles used as rooflights. The north wall includes modern garage doors and a segmental arched recess. On the east gable, there are two hollow chamfered mullioned windows at first floor level, positioned between which is a small sculpture of two figures with a plinth and hood, approximately 400mm high, along with a small carved head above. The interior has been adapted and was not seen. There is a single-storey extension to the north, separated by a glazed roof, which is not included in the listing. The building forms a complementary group with No. 17 High Street.
