Description
The former stable block, located immediately south of The Old Barn, dates back to the 17th century. It is now used as a squash court and studio. The building features large blocks of coursed squared and finely dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and has a rectangular plan. It stands two storeys high and includes two 2-light stone-mullioned casements in the north gable end, one of which has a stopped hood. There is also a two-light stone-mullioned window towards the north end of the east-facing wall, along with a blocked single light window on the far left. A large rectangular recessed area between the two lights interrupts the string course that runs around all sides of the building. On the west side, which faces Sevenhampton Manor, there is a central 4-centred flat-chamfered doorway, with a rectangular door surround featuring deep flat chamfers, although this door is now blocked. Another similar door on the left side is also blocked. The right end of the gable features slightly stepped coping and roll-cross saddles. This building presumably served as a stable block for Sevenhampton Manor. The interior has not been inspected.
