Description

The Vicarage is a vicarage built around 1860, primarily funded by Reverend Edward Ellerton. It is constructed of ashlar with a stone slate roof and stone stacks. The building has a rectangular plan and features a single-storey extension on the left side. It stands two storeys tall with an attic, which is illuminated by two weather-boarded roof dormers, each containing single light casements with pointed heads and glazing bars. The facade is dominated by a steeply pitched gable that faces forward and also has a single light with a pointed head. The three-windowed facade mainly consists of stone-mullioned cross windows with glazing bars, including a 3-light stone-mullioned window on the lower right and marginal glazing bars on the ground floor windows. The central entrance features a 19th-century plank door set within a 'Tudor'-arched moulded surround, with a string course between the ground and first floors. The interior has not been inspected.
