Description

This is a late 17th- to early 18th-century cottage located adjacent to No 56. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a stone slate roof and a stone stack that has been repaired with brick. The cottage has a rectangular main body and a single-storey lean-to at the right gable end. A flat-roofed 20th-century extension at the rear is not of architectural significance. The building is 1½ storeys high. The upper floor is lit by a Cotswold dormer window with a double-chamfered 2-light stone-mullioned casement featuring horizontal glazing bars. A 20th-century part-glazed door, with a stone slate-roofed raking canopy, is situated on the lower left side. A single-light window with an artificial stone surround and a stopped hood is positioned to the right. There is a two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement window at the rear. A stack is present on the left gable end and the right gable end has a slightly stepped coping. The interior has not been inspected.
