Description
No. 21 is a cottage dated 1704, constructed from local stone rubble with Ham stone ashlar dressings. It features an undulating Welsh slate roof with coped gables and a brick chimney stack at one end. The building is two stories high and has one bay. It includes 16-pane sash windows, with the lower window having an exposed timber lintel. To the right, there is a 6-panel door, four of which are glazed, set in a plain beaded ashlar recess. Above the door, a stone plaque reads 'J EH 1704'. The interior has not been seen. Approximately 2 meters from the house is the north boundary wall, made of local stone rubble and about 3 meters high, which is significant for its impact on the street scene. Attached to the right is No. 23 High Street.
