Description
No. 17 High Street is an 18th-century house constructed from Ham stone ashlar, featuring double Roman clay tiles and stepped coped gables, along with brick chimney stacks at each end. The building is two stories tall with an attic and has three bays. It includes a plinth, rusticated quoins, and an eaves cornice. The windows are architraved and beaded mullioned, with three lights in the outer bays and two lights above the entrance. The lower bay on the left has a 16-pane sash window, and the central front door is topped with a pedimented hood. The interior has not been seen. This house was likely built by a local sailcloth maker.
