Description
No. 33 is a cottage that was formerly two cottages in a row, built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from locally cut and squared stone, topped with thatch between coped gables. The building has two storeys and two bays, featuring mostly early small-pane casements with three lights and exposed timber lintels. There is a later casement window in the lower bay one, and an archway or passage through the building. Between bays two and three, there is a 19th-century panelled door with margined upper glazed panels. The east gable of the house is covered with white weatherboard, which conceals the demolition of an adjoining house. The interior has not been seen.
To the north of the house, there is a random rubble boundary wall that averages about two metres high, with a flight of stone steps opposite the east gable. This wall contributes to the setting and street scene.
